Here is a way to save for the special things that you would like to have. Get a jar or a can and start putting you change into it. Do not spend any of your change for a period of time. Then Walmart has made it easy to change your coins into dollars, they have a change machine right next to the Red box rental machine in the front entrance to their stores. I kept all of my change for two months. I was so excited when I change it into dollars, now I have ceiling fans in two of the rooms in my house. A few pennys add up over a period of time. There are local restaurants,and motels that have the sunday paper for customers to read. Then after lunch these places usually throw them out. All a person has to do is contact local palaces in your town and ask if they will let you pick up their papers. Then all the coupons are free for you. Also in a lot of students lab class printing is free up to 5 sheets per student. If there is not any homework due, use theses labs to print your coupons. It could mean enough savings to be able to go out on a date with that special someone. The savings are out there, a person just has to be resourceful.

Did you know that if you have a cheching account at Harris bank, that you can pay all of your bills on line and earn reward points for every dollar that you spend. Then they send you a gift card from any place that you tell them to. The great thing is that Applebees is one of the reward places. So yes you can be in college and still get to go out to eat.

Ok, so for most of you out there, your out to have fun for spring break. That is great, but still try and save money while doing this. It will be awful when the 15th of March comes and it’s time to go back to school and there is not enough money to make it to school let alone while your there. Use these little tips to make the dollar go a little farther. If your traveling, stop at walmart before you leave or any other store of your preference. Buy the roadtrip snacks before you leave. Did you know that the biggest expence while on a trip is the water or drink that you drink. Do not be foolish and waste money. Buy a flat of water for $2.50 instead of paying a $1.50 for each one you buy on the raod. Get a case of drinks and pay 50 cents instead of $1.00 per drink. You can even do this everyday while going to class. I am amazed at how many of the average people waste money. The pop machine at VU is one of the first things a student goes to inbetween classes, Stop wasting!
